What are experimental projects

We call what we are doing experimental projects for a couple of reasons.

First, we want to encourage taking more risk than most of our established community organizations will undertake. We want to conceive of and try radical ideas - many of which will fail but by having clear learning objectives up front, we can learn from.

Next, we do not want to just start a new organization or event - Pensacola has a lot of those already. Too many of our organizations and events struggle just to maintain their existence and have long forgotten their original missions.

Lastly, we want to do things on the cheap and we believe that one way to do that is by doing short-term experiments.

We anticipate and encourage successful experiments to grow into their own entities outside of A Doing Community.
